My girls

Most days we just chill at home but I love it.

Don’t get me wrong, I love to be out and about
but I like to spend most of my time at home in my pj’s, hair in a bun, and rolling around the floor with my two little ones.

Some of the most precious moments I’ve witnessed have been because I’ve been home with my children.

I love it.

Tuesday’s and Thursday’s Cecily has school for a few hours, so that’s the one on one time I get with Charlotte, the house is quite, and I just focus all my time on her. Oh how I love just listening to her laugh, make noises, and watch her play with the toys that are all to herself!
Mon/Wed/Fri are our chill-er days. The days I hit the gym and the days I get to spend time with my girls.

Did I already mention that I love it?

I do,
I really,

really
do.
In a post a few months ago I pretty much spilled my guts out on moving here to Texas and how that has changed me. I wasn’t a fan of staying home and my attitude was a little different but since the move, I have done a complete 180.

I love seeing my kids learn and grow.
I love teaching them.
I love cheering them on.
I love seeing them get excited about little things like Ice Cream or the Park

and

I love how carefree and easy going they are.

All they need is love.

When I go in their rooms to kiss each one before I go to bed, I just love watching them sleep. Some nights, an overwhelming feeling of guilt comes over me because I wasn’t my best or patient enough that day with them.

Each night, I tell myself tomorrow I will be better.

I’m so grateful that they are willing to look past my faults and still love me.

There is just something about being loved unconditionally by little people.

Would you not agree? I sure hope I’m not the only one who feels guilt sometimes.

Or maybe I am, I don’t know?
Anyway, It breaks my heart thinking how fast they’ve grown already. Some days are challenging and some days I think to myself, I can’t wait till they’re older but every time I’ve thought that, I’ve taken it back. I don’t want to get older and I want them to stay little forever.

I never knew what that felt like until becoming a mother.

Yes, more eggs...

Easter morning started early, as I thought it would.

The house was covered in little

plastic colored eggs

and a little boy came down to our room at 6:30 telling me that the

Easter Bunny forgot to come.

I was smiling inside but told him to come lay down by me and the reason why he didn’t come was because it was still night time.

I know, I know,

I felt bad saying it but I was exhausted.

It did buy me another 45 minutes of sleep though.

What he failed to do though, was look around the house for eggs.

When he came down the stairs, he immediately pulled the blinds open to see if the eggs were outside and there was nothing.

Smart kiddo huh?

I didn’t release the memo that the Easter Bunny

comes inside if it’s raining.

Yes, I'm glad i didn't spoil that part last night.

45 minutes rolled by and...

a sweet little boy was snuggling up to

me,

I hear the pitter patter of feet running across

the living room to our room saying,

“The Easter Bunny came,

The Easter Bunny came”

Pierce popped right up and jumped out of bed to see what she was talking about.

Seconds later,

it was running at full force,

yelling,

laughing,

and well you

can picture it all.

They were freaking out excited!

They found all the eggs,

including the Silver and Golden Eggs.

The Silver included “3 Bumble Gum Quarters”

and the Gold included a “One dollar bill.”

Well, Cecily found the One dollar one and of course Pierce fell apart because he wanted it.

So, we had to deal with a little tantrum there for a few minutes but he cooled down and for the next 2 hours,

was trying to wheel and deal with his sister to try and get that dollar from her.

What I find hilarious about it all is that Jake

was JUST like this when he

was a little boy.

Trying to talk you into something

you don’t want.

In fact,

he still does it.

It was classic.

All the while, Charlotte was playing with the empty eggs

and trying to squeeze herself into places to she couldn’t fit to reach their Easter baskets for the good stuff.

She is very smart!

After they found the eggs and their baskets, we had a big Easter Bunny breakfast, got ready for Church, and had a great afternoon celebrating the real reasons of Easter as a family and feeling the spirit.

Although we were bummed our Easter Galveston trip fell through, we still had a great weekend and I have to admit, I was not looking forward in making some Easter dinner myself. Thank goodness we got invited to the Downen’s house for a big Easter party.

We absolutely love this family.

You could not meet more genuine, down to earth people, good FUN people.

We.

Love.

This.

Family.

7 families and 19 kids sure made it a fun night!

We ate an amazing dinner with fabulous deserts that Emily had slaved herself in the kitchen for hours and keep in mind she is pregnant too!

The kids played,

and played,

and played,

and played.

We all put on an Easter hunt for them.

Yes, I know, again….

It’s like the 10th Easter Egg hunt my kids have had in the past 2 weeks,

but they loved every single second of it. The kids had the times of their lives tonight.

It was just a ridiculously fun night,

we had a fabulous time!

Me + 3

I was on my own today,

again.

Because Jake had meetings.

But, that’s ok. It’s a sacrifice we are willing to make.

The kids were great and I couldn’t have asked for a better Saturday with 3 kiddos. I can happily admit, most days are like that.

I’m being serious too.

The day began with a ride over to Katie’s garage sale. I have introduced the kids to a few garage sales and they love it. Plus, with their recent continuous exposure to Toy Story 3, they know exactly what a garage sale means.

Sale your stuff and get money for it, it's a simple concept.

Anyway, I knew they would have fun if we paid a visit to Katie’s, so we hopped in the car, and grabbed donuts-

Um,

who goes a Saturday without a Donut run?

not us.

And, they ran around and had a good time.

After the Garage sale, we left for Pierce’s Soccer pictures and game and got some pretty sweet shots. When I get my photoshop up and running, you will see some serious quality of photos but for now, all the pics you see on my blog are just in the raw!

Is that what you call it?

Whatev.

Anyway, Soccer pictures turned out darling and the game was another hit for Pierce. He did amazing AGAIN and was SO close in getting another goal.

I give it another week or two before we see a goal from him.

I am so proud of him though, I can’t even articulate it!

I just want to squeeze him,

bite him,

tickle him,

kiss him, and

love on him.

He is just a yummy little

terd.

He is just growing into a sweet

big, little

boy.

I love going to his games, I absolutely love it. It’s an indescribably rush I get. I can’t stand it, I love it.

Oh, anyway… He did great again today!

After the game, we went home, showered and got ready for the rest of the day.

It was 3pm by then.

The kids have been waiting ALL day for another Easter Egg hunt and Easter Festivities.

Texas is just da bomb when it comes to kid activities,

that’s why I love it here so much.

It’s all about the kids.

We arrived at the Discovery Center to huge Kites, balloons, Bounce Houses, and loud music.

They could barely contain themselves.

Petting Zoo, Easter Egg Hunt, Face Painting, those figure balloon thingys, and Cotton Candy were just a few things they had going on.

Charlotte was loving the Cotton Candy.

Jake met us there in suit and tie (so sweet & cute) and the kids had a blast! Towards the end of the event, they had a huge raffle drawing thing and we won a Guitar and a $25 Movie gift card, we were on cloud nine!

However,

our cousins won the Wii!

Can you freaking believe that?!

We were all freaking out for them, how awesome is that?

So, needless to say, we came home on a high.

The kids hurried in the tub, we said prayers, and off to bed they went for the arrival of a

furry friend.

Cecily kept getting out of her bed to “get something” but her real intentions were to see if the Easter Bunny was around.

It was annoying but kindof cute at the same time.

Jake grabbed Taco Bell,

(yes gross but oh so good)

and we had a late night hanging out, filling and hiding over

60 eggs,

( I know I’m insane),

and getting ready for the big Easter day.

Whew,

what a long,

fun,

day.

I couldn't wait for the morning to

come.

I must say, It was a good day

We had a very busy weekend and I love it when they are that way, we are not the stay at home type people,

if you haven’t figured that out by now.

After I picked Pierce up from school, we came home to did some cleaning so that the “Easter Bunny” could come and bring the kids prizes. So, you can imagine how motivated the kids were to clean up, it took little threatening I must say. Once the cleaning was done, I took the kids to run some errands and on our way home we drove past what the kids call the “Ducky Pond.”

Cecily shouted out, because she does not know how to use a quite voice, that she wanted to get bones and have a picnic at the Ducky Pond. I looked back at her, gave her “bones” (or knuckles, how ever you prefer to call it)

and said let’s do it.

I did a U-turn,

called Jake,

and said we would grab Wing Stop for dinner and eat there.

He left work early so that he could have an hour with us before his long night of ACN meetings that night.

He met us at there, the kids loved it.

They saw big fish, tons of turtles, and fed hungry ducks.

It was a perfect Friday night.

I got some adorable pictures.

It was a win, win today with the little time we had together.
