My little Artist

When I picked Pierce up from school on Friday, his teacher helped him climb up into the back of the car and told him that his picture was awesome. So I asked him about it and had him show it to me and she was right, he did an awesome job! The kids made a bunch of Thanksgiving things at school and they were so cute I just had to take a picture.

I’m tellin ya, this little guy can draw. He loves Art like his Uncle Bryan. Since he was tiny, he has always shown an interest in drawing, painting, and making/constructing things. For a five year old I think he’s pretty good and I’m not saying that because I’m his mother. He has such a great imagination! Some of his favorite things to draw are people in his family, girls, Spiderman, and anything that pertains to the current holiday. I have kept drawings since he was about 2 years old and It is fun seeing how much he changes each year.

Mr. Snippies

Well, the time has come. I wanted to wait until Thanksgiving night for Mr. Snippies’s arrival but Jake took it upon himself to get him out today without a proper introduction to the new year. So, its not as cute, or official as it was last year but oh well, I guess Mr. Snippies will come on our car ride to Colorado, which just might be a good thing. Oh and there are alot of cool hiding places at Grandma's house too. ;)

So after dinner we watched the movie Elf, which is one of our favorite Christmas movies and right before bed time, Jake read the book to the kids while they loved and snuggled on Mr. Snippies.

The kids have been talking about him coming for about a month now. Or should I say anytime the word Christmas is brought up, they are asking when Mr. Snippies is coming. Last year was our first year having him and it was seriously the cutest thing ever. Really. If you have young kids, get it, it’s a great bargaining tool too.

So, for some of you who don’t know about this, I will give you a little run down of it all and bits and pieces of the book. A tradition that we have started. Elf on the Shelf….

Each night while you’re sleeping to Santa I’ll fly to the north pole right through the dark sky. Of course Christmas magic helps me to be quick. I laugh with my friends and report to Saint Nick.

I tell him if you have been good or been bad. The news of the day makes him happy or sad. A push or a shove I’ll report to “the boss,” but small acts of kindness will not be a loss.

In the car, at the park, or even at school the word will get out if you broke a rule.

I’ll be back at your home before you awake, and then you must find the new spot I will take.

You’ll jump out of bed and come running to see: who’ll be the first to spy little old me?

Maybe the Kitchen, the bathroom, or den is where you will find me, your special elf friend. Where will I be? Let’s make it a game.

There’s only one rule that you have to follow so I will come back and be here tomorrow. Please do not touch me. My magic might go, and Santa won’t here all I’ve seen or I know.

I won’t get to tell him that you’ve said your prayers, or helped to bake cookies, or cleaned off the stairs. How will he know how good you have been? He might start to think you forgot about him.

I can’t speak to you, so says Santa Claus. All of us elves have to follow is laws. I’ll listen to you. Tell me your wishes. Would you like a game or some tiny toy dishes?

So, each year we get him out, they are allowed to touch, hold, and kiss him one time. We read the book, they say their goodbyes, and from then on they can’t touch him or his magic will go. Cecily is just in love with him, it’s so. Dang. cute!

Anyway, you get the point. Bottom line is that it is amazing! It is so adorable to hear the kids every single morning trying to help each other find him. I think it’s more fun for us to try and find new hiding places for him each night. :)

Santa's Wonderland

So Bass Pro Shop (Kindof like a Cabella’s) puts on a big Santa’s Wonderland in the store every year during Christmas time. Chelsea and I decided to take the kids there on Saturday after our Garage sale (which by the way went pretty good) and the kids loved every second of it, we will probably go again actually since Jake couldn't come!

I guess each year they do this and they advertise for it everywhere so I figured it was pretty good. Some of the things they had were a big area of video and gun games for the older kids. They had a few tables of crayons and Christmas pictures to color on, and they had blank Santa Wish List letters to write to Santa, which was so cute! The kids sat down and colored and wrote a letter to Santa. They addressed them and were told that Santa would write them back, so I’m sure that will be fun to see a letter from Santa from the North Pole!

After they did that, we went over to the Ornament table where they got to make these little Christmas Mitten Ornaments. It was a little crazy so we decided to take the craft with us and do it later. We walked around, looked at the fish they had all over the place in huge aquariums, and then waited in line for Santa. While we were waiting, one of the elves stop by to give the kids Silly Bandz and we got a picture with him. Everyone was so fun that was working there and really was playing it up for the kids.

When it was the kids turn to sit on Santa’s lap, it was really cute seeing their face light up. Cecily told Santa she wanted a Barbie and Pierce of course said he wanted Silly Bandz. Really? When is this going to end? I’m just going to have to bite the bullet this year.

Anyway, Santa's Wonderland is all they have been talking about since we left, it was a hit.

Love taking my kids to do fun things!

Miss. Sassy, Cecily Sophia Warnock

Wow, I could go on and on about this one. She is the one I usually give in to. The one who makes my heart melt when her little lip quivers when she’s sad. Cecily is such a sweet girl when she wants to be but can also be someone’s worst enemy. She holds her own weight and will not let anyone push her around. She is a total social bug and will talk to anyone. She is known for saying anything and everythng that comes to mind. (Will ask strangers if they have a baby in their tummy or telling people they look like Witch's) Yeah, I know.

Cecily loves running with the boys (soccer team) and loves being a girlie girl and playing with Barbies/ dolls. She requires alot attention, likes to be praised. She is very mature and her vocabulary lets you know it.

Some of the things she loves are dolls, orange juice, riding bikes, riding the carousel, the park, purses, Hello Kitty, The green “she she” ( Charlottes binky). She has the most cutest, sassy walk you will see in a three year old . Loves Edamanme. In charge and not afraid to tell you what she wants. Will stick up for you. Sweet and motherly with little kids at church, only at church. LOVES Music. (She Wolf is a frequent request) The one everyone wants to play with. Asks to sing Party in the USA in Nursery. Loves to cuddle. Not a breakfast person. A shoe girl. Sticks her tongue out at people. Will finish her dinner and yours too. Loves “Bones” (Wing Stop), Can’t whisper all she knows is LOUD. Loves to help cook. Loves, loves cheese(She's my girl). Enjoys her nails painted. Likes going to the "Movie-ater". Plays well with her siblings. Fast paced, never slows down. Not afraid of anything. Loves school and doing crafts. Likes to be held like a baby, treated like an adult.

We love, LOVE, LoVe, lOVe, this little girl. There is never a dull moment with her.
We adore our Cecy Bean Bean.

Loves Edamanme. En charge et n'a pas peur de vous dire ce qu'elle veut. Tout le monde veut jouer avec. Invite à chanter Party in the USA (Miley Cyress) en maternelle.

A great weekend

The weekend couldn’t have gone better. A lot of fun things happened. I always feel good when we are busy doing things as a family. I feel most stressed and annoyed when we don’t have things planned. I love weekends for more than one reason.

Friday night I was back and forth about running this 5k in the morning. Jake was pressuring me to sleep in and just hang out but I felt as if I should do this run. My knees were still a little sore from the past weeks marathon but I felt prompted to do the run anyway. And I’m glad I did.

I got up at 6:30am (my only sleep in day) and put my running clothes on. I was eating my oatmeal at the table when the kids asked where I was going. I told them I would be running in another race but this time for a very special family who’s dada is very sick.

Cecily: “Did he take too much medicine like Michael Jackson?”

Alicia: "Ha… No sweetheart, his body is very sick inside and mama is going to run this race so that his family can have money to pay for medicine so he can get better."

Cecily: "Ooohhh, I want to run too and get a medal!" (Cecily went to her room and grabbed her shorts, a tank top, and her peep toe pink satin shoes and said she was ready to go.) Gotta love a girlie girl. I would have done the same.

Anyway, I thought I would write down our little conversation because it was adorable.

So, I headed to the trails to register for this 5k and saw some people from our ward, it was nice to see others had taken time out of their Saturday to do this too.

Will Steele was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Cancer and there is No Cure for it. He is 33 years old and has three children. This overwhelming feeling of sickness came over my body thinking about this family. I am looking at that these little kids thinking that when that day comes, they won’t understand why their daddy is gone. I just kept thinking to myself, how awful it would be to know that any day could seriously be his last. Some of us really don’t realize how good we have it.

I have never met him or seen anyone from their family until today but I felt so good and pumped with energy to do this run for them. Since Saturday, I have just really been on a high. Jake and the kids came and watched me run and took pictures. As they would pass by in the car, the kids were yelling "Hi Mama" outside their windows, it was the cutest, most motivating thing ever. I kindof got emotional. I liked them seeing me do this for this needy family. I have never done something like this before and it was a neat experience to be there and to see Will and his family.

After the race it was Pierce’s end of the season Soccer Party. The coaches had it at their house and rented a bounce house for the kids, had pizza, cupcakes, and handed out their trophies. Pierce was freaking out about his little trophy. He LOVED it. We were there for a few hours and the kids were just playing, playing, and playing! It was cute seeing all the kids together once again. It really was a great soccer year. I think more so for me than Pierce. It was fun getting to know the parents of the children and everyone was so friendly. I'm going to miss these people, especially the coaches, they were awesome. I had a blast being a team mom too, defiantly worth doing again!

Once we got home the kids were exhausted. They went down for a 3 ½ hour nap and I did too. Ummmmm, It was Heaven might I say.

Around 5 we decided to head over to the Grapevine Mills Outlet Mall. This place is amazing, the coolest stores you can think of are there. Saks Fifth, Neiman’s, Gap, Nike, Rain Forest Café, the list could go on and on. This place had a full size (like car size) train ride that rode around the mall! I’m telling you, Texas has the BEST malls and shopping.

After walking around the mall, we took the kids to eat at Rain Forest Café. As soon as we sat down, Charlotte had a blowout, Pierce was pouting about wanting Silly Bandz (of course they put them right beside the hostess table for the kids to whine, cry, and fight about while waiting in line), and then throughtout dinner, took Pierce and Cecily potty. I think I spent more time in the Restrooms than at the table that night. Oh well. They loved it. Were all over it. Talked about it for days. It was so way over priced but well worth the looks on my kids face.

It was a great weekend.
