Little Char

Charlotte is ALWAYS smiling, and I mean always. I am soooo not exaggerating either, she is always this happy. I call her my little miracle baby for many reasons but she truly is the light in our house!

Right now she is pulling herself up onto everything and crawling very fast! One of her favorite things to do is turn the dial on the tv and upset the kids while they watch tv and she keeps on doing it until you block her with something. She is loving her "Baba's" and gets over the top excited when you say the word Baba. She also understands the words "all done" and does the "all done hand signs with her hands" when she doesn't want to eat anymore. Bannanas are a must for her everyone morning as well.

Here are a few cute pics of her just playing and smiling for the camera. Jake loves spiking her hair up, looks kindof cute and crazy.

Girls day out

Cecily is truly all girl and about 10% tom boy and that’s only because she hangs out with her brother most of the time. Not sure the percentages for Pierce are quite the same since he’s a little fruitier than most boys but he will grow out of it… I hope... :)

Anyway, Cecily LOVES going to Sharky’s. It’s a way cute little kids hair cut place by our house. They wash your hair with Chocolate Shampoo, they have a Barbie Jeep you sit in while they cut, dry, and style our hair, and then they give you a manicure afterwards. Did I mention the manicure is “free”? Yeah but the entire production costs $21, so you do the math. Not so free huh? I just think its funny how the emphasize the free part, anyway… it’s her favorite part! She is so darn cute, I can’t stand it and the pictures turned out darling!

Superbowl

Superbowl parties are always fun and we look forward to them every year. I personally am not a football fan but I really like the Superbowl. Maybe its all the food that comes with it that doesn't make it so bad, it also helps when you are around great friends. We LOVE hanging out with the Kotter's (love their darling family) and they know how to have a party. (Chelsea was so cute, she had all the food labeled, see pictures below)

Black Eyed Peas totally rocked the half time show too! It would have been awesome to have been there since it was here in Texas but its just as fun to be at home and not have to fight the crowds and such.
I do have to put here on my blog a new amazing dessert I found that’s easy and a favorite! Smores. Oh and I have an amazing Queso Dip too that I made...

We met some new people but of course I can't remember their names now, but they were really nice and fun to hang out with!

CASTLE PARK

Today was one of those days that felt like spring and I LOVED it. After we picked Pierce up from school I took them to the “Castle Park” and let them play for a few hours. This park really is something. Its got some fun stuff like a big Tire Swing, tunnels, and lots of different slides. Afterwards we went to this really good Ice Cream place and got them Ice Cream cones.

One of the best weeks EVER

Winter W0nderland Extravaganza... That’s exactly what I will call it. School was cancelled for 4 days in a row Tues-Fri for a pretty good snow storm. You see, here in Texas we are not equipped for weather like this (we are talking like up to 4 inches of snow, that's all), so 60 borrowed snow plows just isn't enough to cover Dallas and the surrounding areas, or so Texas for that matter. So, the snow will just pack down until its turned into a huge ice skating rink and we just have to wait until it melts. Darn.

Pretty interesting though because people here kindof freak out when stuff like this happens. MOST businesses, and I mean most businesses close down completely for days until its safe to drive. Most fast food and restaurants were closed and all the grocery stores were out of Milk, Bread, and Eggs at one point. Crazy... Makes you really re-think your food storage and stuff. Pretty much the entire state had rolling black outs, which is interesting. But what I do find even more interesting is that everyone had to particpate in the rolling black outs, including hospitals, except for the Cowboys Stadium! Can you believe that?! How does that happen?

So anyway...Although most mothers are pulling their hair out by day 3 of kids being home, I was absolutely loving it. Did I say loving it already? Loved it!! Ok so for 1), I didn't have to get up early to get the kids ready and out the door by a certain time, and 2), I was just in my pjs eating and playing with some pretty sweet people, all week long. So, we ended up having 4 days off in a row, then a 3 day weekend because Pierce didn’t have school on Monday. It was seriously the BEST week we’ve ever had!

So let me tell you about these fun people we know... (The Underlys) have 4 kids ages 16, 15, 10, 7 and my kids absolutely love them, and we love them! Talk about fun, laid back people that just go with it.

So here's the breakdown...It all began on Tuesday when we found out school had been cancelled. We invited the Underlys over to play games for a little bit but it soon turned into a 14 hr, yes 14 hr day filled of games and fun. We ordered pizza and played games like SCUM (which is a blast), Settlers of Catan, and Ticket to Ride. After such a fun day we spent and figured out that school was cancelled AGAIN, we decided to get together for a big breakfast the next morning. We made French Toast, Bacon, and Hash browns and played all day once again until 2:30am. Day 3 came along and we decided to go sledding. The kids were FREAKING out excited and seriously loved every single second of it. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. They were so cute too. Pierce would help Cecily and carry her sled up the hill when she was tired, he would help push her if she got stuck, it was seriously the funnest day for them and for me to see such cute moments like that. Jake brought his snowboard and thought he was super cool doing that. He also took Charlotte for a ride, she loved it.

Anyway, we spent the day sledding, eating, and playing games till 1am. Saturday we got together that night to play games, again. Tiring isn’t it? We were tired but it was seriously one of the funnest weeks I’ve had! We love this family!!!

Some of the staple items this week where… Slushy Dr. Peppers- Nothing better than a cold slushy one, these sausage Wonton thingys that Cheryl makes that are to die for, popcorn, and one of my favorite things, gummy bears, (Red ones). In order of color... Red, Orange, Green, Yellow, White.

An amazing week, sad to get back in the hang of things...

She's getting there

Little Charlotte is growing like crazy! In the last 4 weeks she has started to crawl all over the place and pull herself up on anything she can put her chubby hands on. I have switched her over to formula (a hard thing for me) but with some upcoming things over the next few months, it was just easier to start the formula thingy. Not to mention she is eating way more and happened to be a little under weight for her age. (She is 16 lbs, in the 10th percentile for weight, so yes, she is little) I Love this baby to pieces!!!

At first she was NOT having it what so ever but she has almost fully transitioned and loves it. She gets really excited when I say “Ba ba” and give her a bottle, it’s really cute!

Back in business

First let me start off my saying I’ve had some technical difficulties with my camera. I have come to realize that I am a spoiled brat with my camera and refuse to take any pictures with anything else but my nice camera.

So, since I have had issues with mine, I have simply just passed up on some fun picture taking moments up until this past week. Which I am totally kicking myself now... It has been so frustrating because its brand new and I just haven’t had the chance to fill out the warranty paper work and send it in. Well, long story short, I was telling my friend (Chelsea) who has the same camera as me that its not taking pictures and just flickers when I go to take it. So it like wants to take the picture but trys to focus and re-focus but never takes it. Make sense?

So she decides to switch our lenses to see if it was in deed the lense and figure it out that way. And... she found out that it was my lens. What a smarty pants, I wouldn’t have thought to do that. So, I seriously owe her for that.

Anyway so I haven't been hiding anywhere or have locked my kids up in the house for weeks and not doing anything with them, just having issues here. But we are back in business... Chelsea let me borrow an extra lens she had which I'm really starting to like, I might have to get that one too.

Oh and did I mention that I don't have a computer during the day anymore because Jake has taken my laptop to work for a new employee we have. So... Blogging has not been very easy or accessible lately. Sorry, it won't be too much longer though.

Peace out... Posts to come shortly...
