Flash back Fridays: Unexpected hair cut

You always hear about kids cutting their own hair when their young and for some reason I thought this would never happen to my kids, boy was I wrong. Cecily has had a hard time growing out her mullet, I think it comes with this age because I have heard of others complain about the same thing with their daughters. So, her bangs were just below her eyebrows and I was having her grow them out and would put them in a little ponytail and pin them back with a flower. Well, I had the kids do Valentine activities and Pierce was cutting hearts out and when I went out to the garage to grab some more glue (gone for maybe 10 seconds) Pierce had snipped Cecily’s bangs that were gathered in a little ponytail. I wanted to DIE!

I was so shocked I just stood there with my mouth open just staring! I didn’t know whether to laugh or get mad but I was feeling a little of both. I had to let Pierce know that it wasn’t ok to do that so he lost his privilege to swim at his cousins birthday party that night. (He fell A.P.A.R.T. when everyone was swimming but him) but, it was a true Love & Logic moment for him, I’m glad I did that. So, her bangs were no longer below her eyebrows, they were about an inch or less above her scalp. Lovely.

Now, they are finally back to where they were and hopefully we don’t run into another incident like that again. I have since locked up all scissors for this purpose.


Vous avez toujours entendu parler de jeunes se couper les cheveux propres lorsque leurs jeunes et pour quelque raison que j'ai pensé que ce ne serait jamais arriver à mes enfants, je me trompais. Eh bien, j'ai eu les enfants faire des activités Valentine et Pierce coupe des cœur et quand je suis sorti du garage pour prendre un peu plus de colle (peut-être parti pour 10 secondes) Pierce avait coupé c’est cheveux. Je voulais mourir!

J'ai été tellement choqué que je suis resté là avec ma bouche ouverte juste regarder a cest cheveux! Je ne savais pas s'il fallait rire ou se fâcher, mais je me sentais un peu des deux. J'ai dû laisser Pierce savoir qu'il n'était pas autorisé à le faire que si il a perdu son privilège de nager à sa fête d'anniversaire cousins ce soir-là. (Il est tombé en morceaux quand tout le monde de nager mais lui Ainsi, sa frange n'étaient plus ci-dessous ses sourcils, ils étaient environ un pouce ou moins-dessus de son cuir chevelu.

Maintenant, ils sont enfin de retour à l'endroit où ils étaient et nous espérons que nous ne courons pas dans un autre incident comme ça. Depuis, j'ai enfermé tous les ciseaux à cet effet.

Summa time

This morning the kids, Taylor, and I met up with some women in the ward at the Splash Park for a little play group. The kids had a great time getting wet in the fountains and playing at the park which is right next to the Splash area. After the Splash Park we decided to go to our community pool and swim for a little while. Pierce is doing so well swimming without his floaties, I am, so proud of him. Cecily is just starting to learn how to hold her breathe and go under water as well, she is quite the little fish!

I will be kind of sad when summer is over and that was not what I was thinking when summer started, I have really enjoyed just taking it easy and really spending time with my children. Pierce starts Kindergarten on August 23rd and Cecily starts her little preschool twice a week on August 31st, what will I do with all my extra time? Hold and snuggle this tiny baby all. day. Long.

Ce matin, les enfants, Taylor, et moi se rencontré des femmes dans mon Eglise ou parc de splash pour que tout les enfants jou. Les enfants sont bien amuse de se mouiller dans les fontaines et il jouant ou parc qui est juste à côté de la zone de splash. Après le parc splash, nous avons décidé d'aller à la piscine et nager un peu. Pierce se nage sans son cest floaties, je suis tres content de lui. Cecily a commence juste à apprendre à tenir sa respiration et passer sous l'eau, ainsi, elle est tout à fait le petit poisson!

Je serai un peu triste quand l'été est fini et ce n'était pas ce que je pensais quand l'été est arrivé, j'ai vraiment apprécié bien tranquillement et vraiment passer du temps avec mes enfants. Pierce commence la maternelle, le 23 août et Cecily commence son âge préscolaire peu deux fois par semaine le 31 août, ce que je vais faire tout mon temps supplémentaire? Tenir ce petit bébé tout.la.journee.

Little Gremlins

Sometimes my kids remind me of the Gremlins, they eat their dinner and then they turn into little monsters right before they have to go to bed, but I kindof like it! I went in to check on the kids after I put them down for bed tonight and they were nowhere to be found. As I searched a little harder I noticed a pile of toys on the floor outside of Pierce’s armoire, I opened his door and this was what I found inside… I couldn’t help but laugh, it was the cutest thing!

Parfois mes enfants me rappellent les Gremlins, ils mangent leur dîner et puis ils se transforment en petits monstres avant qu'ils aient le droit d'aller au lit, mais cest mignon! Je suis allé pour vérifier sur les enfants, après je les inscrire pour le coucher ce soir et ils étaient introuvables. Comme je l'ai cherché un peu plus, j'ai remarqué un tas de jouets sur le sol à l'extérieur du armoire de Pierce, j'ai ouvert sa porte et c'était ce que je trouve à l'intérieur ... Je ne pouvais pas m'empêcher de rire, cetait vraiment mignon!

Tutti Frutti

Today the kids and I had a great time and they have become quite the little swimmers. We went to a friends house who had a little get together pool party and the kids played and played and played, they had a great time. Oh and Pierce can now swim without floaties, I am so proud of him! I will post some swimming pictures later this week. Anyway, after their naps and dinner, I took the kids to Tuttii Fruttii, their FAVORITE place to go for desert and the pictures turned out adorable!

Tuttii Frutti is a cute little frozen yogurt place by our house and the kids love it because they can pile their yogurt up with as much candy/treats as they want. Kindof. I'm really strict on candy and treats with them so when we go there I sort of let them do whatever. I just love seeing them get excited about little stuff like this, makes being a mother so much fun!

Aujourd'hui moi et les enfants sont bien amuse. Nous avons commencé la journée chez an amie a moi qui a une picine dans sa maison pour quelques heures. Les enfants sont devenus très peu les nageurs et Pierce peut maintenant nager sans les floaties, je suis tres content pour lui. Quoi qu'il en soit, après la sieste et le dîner, j'ai pris les enfants à Tuttii Fruttii, leur endroit favori pour aller chercher le désert et les photos s'est avéré adorable!

Weeds, weeds, and more weeds

Finding activities for the kids (everyday) can become challenging, especially since my kids get bored so quickly. The yard needed some lovin so I decided to take the kids out to help me pull weeds and they were ALL for it! What is wrong with them? So, for our family home evening “activity” we decided to pull weeds and they did a great job doing it! Charlotte had a long day so she wasn’t participating.

Trouver des activités pour les enfants (tous les jours) peut devenir difficile, surtout depuis que mes enfants s'ennuient très vite. La cour avait besoin d'aimer, alors j'ai décidé de prendre les enfants pour m'aider à arracher les mauvaises herbes et ils étaient tous pour elle! Quel est le problème avec eux? Donc, pour notre soirée familiale «activité», nous avons décidé de retirer les mauvaises herbes et ils ont fait un excellent travail en le faisant! Charlotte avait une longue journée si elle ne participait pas.

What do you think?

So both of my kids have been pacifier suckers and have never showed an interest in thumbsucking. But, I think this baby Charlotte might break the trend! In the past 3 days I have “caught” her sucking her thumb. Although the thumb is hard to take away, it sure is cute watching her do it! So, do you think this will last or is it just because it happens to be something to suck on close by? Either way, its pretty adorable! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this tiny baby, she is a great addition to our family. I think we will keep her! Oh, and did I say she is super chubby?! :)

Donc, mes deux enfants prednais la sucette et n'ont jamais montré un intérêt à sucer son pouce. Mais, je pense que Charlotte bébé pourrait inverser la tendance! Dans les 3 derniers jours, j'ai "attrapé" sucer son pouce. Bien que le pouce est difficile à enlever, il est sûr mignon à la regarder faire! Alors, pensez-vous cela va durer ou est-ce simplement parce qu'il se trouve quelque chose à sucer à proximité? Quoi qu'il en soit, son joli adorable! J’adore, J’adore, J’adore ce petit bébé, elle est un excellent ajout à notre famille!

Stake Pioneer Day

It was Stake Pioneer Day today at the Frisco Commons Park and the kids had a blast! We got there a little late but the kids were still able to participate in the activities. They had ice cream, snow cones, balloons, face painting, games, the “Castle” park, and the best of all to top the hot day, the Splash Park!

Cetait le jour de Pioneer aujourd'hui chez le Parc communes Frisco et les enfants sont bien amuse! Nous sommes arrivés un peu tard mais les enfants étaient encore en mesure de participer aux activités. Ils avaient de la crème glacée, cornets de neige, ballons, maquillage, jeux, le "Château" du parc, et le meilleur de tous au haut de la chaude journée, le parc aquatique!
