I think the best 4 days of the year

Oh my heck, talk about one of the funnest times we've had in a LONG time.

We love going to Colorado, its as if time stops there.

So we got invited by our friends the Underly's to go to their families cabin up in La Veta and it was unreal, amazing. I can't even go into all the details, first it would take forever and 2, it wouldn't do it justice.

We are totally getting one. A cabin.

We stayed there for 4 days but wished it was longer. And hope we get re-invited again. hope.

Our days consisted of the following:

Big breakfasts
Morning jogs
fourwheeling
Witches Stories
Gator-ing
Discovering new 4-wheeling trails ALL DAY LONG
Bear searching
BBQ dinners
Abandoned trailers
Getting in trouble

Double toliets

Bugs

Early mornings
"Chick-munk" trapping
Late night socializing
Breaking down
Hot tubing
Scary story telling
Pouting, whinning, and crying
Chiggers
More story telling and socializing
Sneaking & lying
Pouting, whinning, and crying - Oh wait, did I already say that?
Rat houses
Squeaking
Hot chocolate
Covered in dust & dirt
Bribing

Shhhhhhhhh

Daring
Crackers & Peanuts
Charlotte discovered wine drinking and dog food
Shorts with boots
Fourwheeling off a cliff
And...its getting too late for me to think of any others right now.

It was seriously the BEST time ever. I did NOT want to leave. Why can't life just be a big vacation everyday. Work is so overated, why not just live in the mountains?

WARNING: There are ALOT of pictures.

"Chipmunk hangout" The boys would set these traps under this bucket with crackers and peanuts and wait till a chipmunk went under it and they would pull the string and catch it. The kids were ALL over it and spending a good portion of the day, perfecting the trap.

4th of July

4th of July is one of my favorite holidays.

The week of the 4th is just a blast for us because its also the kids birthdays. Pierce was born on 7/5 and Cecily was born on 7/6, so its just a fun, fun week for us.

This year however, wasn't the best.

We were packing and moving everything out of the house during the week of the 4th and the kids b-days. The kids probably won't even remember it, because they don't skip a beat, but me however, it will bother me for years to come.

Why am I like that?

In fact, I was emotional about it all that week. moving is just hard in general but it was just worse for me. We are planning on doing a birthday party for the kids a few weeks after, but still, its not the same.

I remember growing up hating my summer birthday. Everyone is out of town, everyone is busy, it was just hard getting people together for something like that. Anyway, we still had a good time, took the kids to a parade, went swimming, went to dinner, stuff like that.

It was a day all about the kids, I love those kinds of days.

We love Mother Goose

One of the things I will miss about Frisco and not living so close to there anymore is the Frisco Library and the fun things they do there.

They have an amazing storytime/reading program, and just about everyday they put together a storyhour. You would just have to go and see it to believe it but it is awesome and the kids didn't make a sound during it all. It is so stinkin darling, its like a mini kids show, even the adults were enjoying it. I loved it.

Mother Goose sure caught their attention.
After storytime, we sat and read book after book on the floor and played computer games for the next 2 hours.

After the library, we walked to the popcorn store and the kids got to pick out whatever flavor of popcorn they wanted.

Cecily chose Dr. Pepper (daddy's girl)

and

Pierce chose Cotton Candy (mainly because it was pink) Ha ha.

Horseshoe crabs, Jellyfish, Crocodiles, you name it

i know i keep saying I will be better at this but i just need to tell myself i cant right now.

i think thats fair.

dont you?

one day.

And so we begin with like 4 weeks ago.

June was just a cray month for us. Jake and I were gone quite a bit for work trainings and during that all, trying to find a new place to live. Not sure if some of you know, but I am opening a store up in just a few short weeks and to live closer to the store, we decided to move. I swear we move just about every 2 years. In fact, now that I think about it, its just about every 2 yrs.

what is wrong with us?

Or Jake I should say. cause i dont like to move.

So, during the packing and all, the kids and i did some fun stuff. so much to do here, i love it.

here below i took the kids to Fairpark to the Aquarium and the kids were totally digging it. They got to hold all kinds of different sea creatures and did not want to leave. This little Cecily is fearless btw. i don't think i've been to an aquarium that was so "hands on", it was alot of fun. not to mention all the other cool museums you can go to, like the Butterfly museum, Dinosaur, Pharaoh's museum, they have a ton of cool stuff. (we will be doing those next week)

My Masterpiece's

So I just realized I wrote this post months back but somehow it didn't post...

These little drawings below are from the most adorable kits Grandma Sheri bought for the kids for Christmas.

My kids LOVE doing projects and crafts and this was by far the best gift for both them and I. They got to draw them, I got to hang them.

How it works is, its a kit that comes with several sheet of this special paper, you draw what you want and send it in and within a few weeks, they print, frame, and send it back to you.

Pierce's drawing (He's such an artist and so clever) drew the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He's pretty good, huh?

Cecily's drawing (learned this from her brother) are "Mean girls." Don't ask me why but it had something to do with their other Grandma, Maminou, who makes up these ridciulous stories of mean girls, witches, and mummies. So, thats where some of my childrens drawings come from. I know, lovely huh? Ha ha Gotta love it.
