Day 3 of 5

Today was a blast! One of the planned activities for the weekend was that The Browns and Dave who both have 4-Wheelers, would plan a big 4-wheeling trip for all the family. We bundled up the kids in warm clothes and took off at about 10:30am. We all caravanned up to the mountains and finally got settled at around 12pm. . The kids were SO excited for today and could hardly wait.

As soon as we got to the camp site, we started a huge fire, grilled hotdogs/ate lunch, made the BIGGEST Smores I've ever seen, and let the kids run around and play for a bit. Then, it was riding time. BethAnn and James were so nice in taking Pierce and Cecily on the 4wheeler. Cecily could not get enough of it, could not. She was having the time of her Iife. I don’t think I have ever seen her like something so much! This all lasted until about 5pm. We were dirty and the kids were exhausted from the day. Oh and so was I since I only got about 3 hours of sleep, but that didn’t stop me. We stayed up late (again) and played Ticket to Ride and hung out at the Ranch for a little bit. What a fun day!

Last day of fun

Our last day of fun. We slept in this morning and felt great. We got ready for the day and left at about 12ish. We drove into Pueblo and had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, just our close family. After lunch we took the kids to the Children’s Museum and they had a blast. It was seriously the cutest place ever. They had so many Christmas activities for the kids, they really could have been there all day.

Something funny happened. While Sheri, myself, and the kids were at one of the activities table, there were these twins that were sitting across the table from us. Sheri had mentioned something about how cute the girls sweaters were, or something to that effect. The mother who was also sitting across from us over heard Sheri commenting on the twins and interrupted her and said “You keep referring to them as Girls, they are Boys!” So, this was seriously awkward. I don’t think I have been in such an awkward situation in a long time. So we were both kindof laughing about it at first and realized she wasn’t joking when she said they were boys. Ahhhh!

So, she went on by saying she’s not from here and that she gets that a lot, that her boys look like girls, blah, blah, blah. So I thought I would small talk and ask her where she was from. We were thinking England or somewhere in Europe. What are your first thoughts? Well, you probably guessed wrong. They are from Denver. Yes Denver. Sheri and I were both looking at each other trying not to laugh the entire time. I have included a secret photo I took for your review. Tell me if we were just that blind or justified!

After the Children’s Museum we headed over to the Ranch for a big Steak dinner and some more fun. I was sad knowing it was our last night there. We are hoping to come back up in March for a big camping trip Jake wants to plan with his Uncle Mike. Don’t be fooled though, I will NOT be participating in a 4day camping trip.

It was a great week, we are sad to see it end. Thank you Sheri and John for opening your home to us and watching our kids for some late night fun. We love you and love that our children are so excited to see “Grandma and Grandpa Sheri!”
