Heart-ing Sunday's

Have I said before that I heart Sundays? I’m going to be 100% honest with you, that when I was younger I did not like Sundays. I thought they were boring, we couldn’t go anyway, no one could play, everything was closed (in Utah), the list could go on but it seems ever since I’ve had children, I love them more and more and more and more and more and more and more

I enjoy the spirit that is felt all day. It makes the day hard to dislike my husband for whatever he might do for that one day. I enjoy the 2 hour break from my kids. (Come on, I know many of you feel the same way) I enjoy how chill it is all day and how we spend quality time as a family without being rushed somewhere or doing something. I love the naps. I love the more time consuming dinners I get to make. And, you get the point.

Today was one of those Sundays that I had to write about. We got home from a spirit felt day at church, Jake took the kids to the park while I cleaned and relaxed on the couch just doing nothing. Really, it was nothing, just thinking about everything and anything. When they got back, we decided to work on the front yard a little bit and I had a constant grin on my face. Little kids are just so funny. The kids insisted on helping out (yes, they do like yardwork) and they’re choice of tools and my daughters outfit was just one of a kind.

Oh and to top off the day, one of my friends made us some hot fudge. I ate it with a spoon and the kids made smores with them. Yum!

Paddy Dash Race

I have really gotten to like these things. They are easy fun runs and the kids love it too. This one though, was especially great! It was called the Paddy Dash and it was to benefit a few non-profit organizations, so it was for a good cause and I got a fun workout in early. I was way excited to bring the kids because it was St. Patricks Day themed (This is the 3rd year they’ve done it) and they have a ton of kid friendly festivities.

Our day started at 6:30. Jake was awnry to get up and come and tried talking me into not doing it but I was not about to let him rain on the fun! The kids were so excited and have been waiting to do this for days now! I kept telling them they would run a race with mama and win a medal and get their face painted, play on the bounce houses, and wear green. Wish you could have seen their faces light up.

So, they got dressed in their St. Patricks Day stuff, we stopped for donuts on the way to the race, and the fun began real quick...

Face painting, tons of bounce houses, booths selling crap, and a doggy parade to finish it off. They had a 1mile Run, a 5k run, and a 50 yard dash for the kids under 8 yrs old. Let me just tell you how happy the kids were to “race.”
They gave all the kids medals for crossing the finish line and they were just eating it up! They had a blast! I talked our friends into coming with us (Underlys) and they had a great time too!

Cheryl, Sam, and Sophie all ran the one miler and Sam came in before his mom and sister. He was SO excited he beat them! They are such cute, good kids!

Me on the other hand, I ran in the 5k and had a great time! I ran it in 29 min. It was just an easy fun run without the race pressure. The first thing Jake said to me after I was done was, "Did you give it your all, cause you were running kindof slow and tons of retards finished before you." My first thought was, I'm going to slap you.
My next thought was, its a 5k! I had to remind him this was for fun. For fun. He thinks he can out run me but oh little does he know. The next race, he's doing it with me, so stay tuned for that one. This will be fun!

Don't mind Cecily, she's dancing to the music and not paying attention to the photographer (me)

She's been obsessed with this headband and every time it falls off, she puts it back on like Rambo. Hilarious...

Look at the guy next to me. Kindof hard to miss...And this picture does no justice to his belly. I'd say he looked about 8 months prego from the side.

Notre journée a débuté à 06h30.

Happy St. Patricks Day!

The kids woke up to green four leaf clover necklaces, stickers, and a green breakfast. They were all over it!!! I love doing stuff like this for them, I didn’t have memories like this growing up, so I really want to do things fun for them so they can look back and remember.

Swimming in March? Why yes! This is why Texas is so great… Spring and Fall are basically mild summers for us, so there’s a lot more time to do fun things outside because it’s so nice. My friend Chelsea had a little get together at her house and let’s just be honest here, we all didn’t want to leave! They have a beautiful home with a pool and hot tub and a neat water fall feature thingy, the kids were in heaven. If I could have it my way, I’d be there every day, but they have a life of their own too! It was about 85 outside (felt hotter) and the water was warm. We had 17 total kids at one point, that’s including the 4 little ones, but that’s a ton of kids! The kids were just all smiles and playing all very well! I got some color too, good way to start the spring!

Spring Break

Today it was a day to get out of the house. The kids have been coughing like crazy and have been sick so our Spring Break didn’t really start until Wednesday-ish. I decided to take them to the movies to see Gnomeo & Juliet. Adorable movie and they had a great time. We got treats, popcorn, and they did so well sitting in their chairs watching it. Charlotte on the other hand, not so much. I think she ate about a ream full of saltine crackers just to keep her busy and quiet. (She was tired though, so that’s why too)

After that, we did the park thing and I was sweating to death. I need to invest in some summer clothes, I was thinking I had another month or so. Not the case.

Hey, Hey listen up people... Pierce knows how to ride his bike without training wheels! He is SO proud of himself and so are we! Every day we've gone out to practice with him and he just lights up every single time. It seriously took him like 2 days to figure it out, he learns quick. He still has to work on it a little bit though. He's run over his sister a few times and ran into me. Ouch! He tends to look one way and ride the bike the other way. What a cutie!

Cecily on the other hand was feeling jealous and wanted her training wheels off so Jake took them off. She soon realized how hard it was and decided she wanted them back on. After Jake put them back on, she rode really fast past Pierce and was kindof bragging about how fast she could go. Oh she is just too cute, I can't stand it!

UNO, lots of movies, and Spring cleaning consisted of the rest of the week. Its ok though, I kindof like it like that sometimes.
