Bonjour's & Geocaching

Jake and I were out of town for several days for work so Jake’s sister Lauren, her husband Steve, and their daughter Livy all came down to watch the kids for us. We got home on Friday and they stayed till Sunday. The kids played and played, they love that little Olivia. Pierce introduced Livy to Rolly Pollys and bug catching, she loved it.

Steve was able to get some cute pictures of the kids too. Charlotte was glad we were home and livy was gone. Livy seemed to reap all the attention and enjoyed pulling Char’s hair the whole time. (photo to prove it) Ha Ha

No but, Charlotte loved having her around, they were little buddies!

So Steve is into Geocaching and for some of you who don’t know, it’s like a grown up treasure hunt. Its done throughout the world and you basically have to locate these small hidden containers. There’s a whole website about it, so I’m not going to get into too much detail but it’s actually pretty cool! There were a few around our neighborhood and the kids were freaking out excited. Steve and I walked the babies in strollers while Pierce and Cecily rode their bikes. Meanwhile, Jake was at home waiting for AAA to get there because Cecily was playing in the stang and locked the door with the keys in it on our way out. She’s such a turd! Anyway, they love treasure hunt things and the rest of the weekend they kept asking to do more of them. Fun pictures below.

On Sundays, I try to stick to just church movies and family activities. Today, we all watched The Prodigal Son. Can you tell the kids were really into it? They didn't move once!

And I was like Baby Baby Baby Ooooh, thought you'd always be mine, mine... Yes, we all have Beiber fever right now and its Jake's 33rd BIRTHDAY!

Jake is one lucky guy. He always has good birthdays, even his mother can agree with this statement. For this 30th birthday, I had a huge surprise party for him and there was like 35 people that came, it was so much fun. This year wasn’t quite that big but it was fun and lasted 3 days. We went out to dinner with some great friends on Saturday, hung out with friends on Sunday, and on Monday which was his birthday, we had a little surprise party for him. It’s been kindof a joke lately about having a Justin Beiber party for him because our friends the Underly’s, their girls are obsessed with JB and we all went to see the movie and Jake was kindof whining that he didn’t get to go. (and it was a GREAT movie, I have to admitt)

So, we’ve been teasing him about wanting to go and see it, since its more like a girlie movie. On Monday Jake worked all day but came home a little early to hang out with the family for his birthday. When he got home I talked him into leaving the house to run some errands with me while the Underly’s decorated our house in Justin’s favorite colors and when we got home, he was surprised to see the house all decorated, Justin Beiber music playing, and his very own JB Ice Cream cake.

Jake does this thing that's hilarious. He sticks his tongue out and sniffs with his nose at the same time, its the funniest thing ever.

We've taught her well...

Tonight was one of those adorable moments and I’m so glad I had my camera handy, not to mention she has been emulating her parents “reading.”

So, Cecily and Pierce got in an argument about something. I think it was about Squinkies or something. She started to pout and went in her room and closed the door. She was in there for about 10 min before I went in to check on her. I thought for sure I would walk into a disaster of clothes spread all over her room and a new outfit on (since she changes her clothes several times during the day. Yes, we've tried taking her dresser out of her room, taking her clothes away, nothing really works) anyway... but when I opened the door, I found that her room was still clean and she was laying on her bed with her scriptures open on her lap.

My heart just melted. I asked her what she was doing and what was wrong and it went something like this.

Me: Cecily why are you in here all by yourself.
Cecily: Because
Me: Because why?
Cecily: Because
Me: Are you sad?
Cecily: No.
Me: Are you mad?
Cecily: No.
Me: Are you frustrated?
Cecily: (Head nod)
Me: So you’re frustrated? Why are you frustrated?
Cecily: Because Pierce is mean. He hit me.
Me: I’m sorry. Do you want to come out and play?
Cecily: No.
Me: Ok, do you want to be alone for a little bit?
Cecily: (Head nod)
Me: Ok, I will leave you alone for a little bit. (I walk out of the room)
Cecily: Close my door please.
Me: Ok, I will close your door. (Smiling)

She stayed in her room in this exact position (with her scriptures open and upside down) for about 2o min. I went back in 3 more times to check on her because it was just too adorable to not watch! I love this little girl. What’s even more funny is that her scowls look just like mine. I deserve this though, I gave my mom a run for her money too.

Little Lizard

Charlotte loves the water. I think all babies do. She will just sit in the tub and splash and play with her toys, it’s so fun to watch her. She always has a smile on her face and sticks her tongue out, we like to call her little lizard. Its them most adorable thing you will ever see. When she gets out of the tub we like to stick her hair up, she reminds me of a troll doll. Remember those? I loved those back then.

Noodle Necklaces

Today we made noodle necklaces and they had a great time doing it. When it comes to painting, they can’t control themselves, they freak out with excitement! It always makes a big mess and it’s an annoying clean up but I just bite my tongue and smile. We filled 8 little zip lock bags and put noodles in each of them. I then helped them pour the color of paint they chose, sealed it, and away they went in squishing the paint around onto all the noodles. We then dumped them out to dry (for a day) and then they made the necklaces. Cecily wanted a picture with her necklace; however Pierce didn’t want anything to do with it. Not like him but we will take it! Look how sweet Cecily looks…
